Going Back to Hogwarts

Calling all Potterheads! I have a blog for you! Along with being a huge Disney fan, I am also a huge Harry Potter fan. I have been watching the movies since I was little and I probably know them all by heart. If one of them is one television, I will watch it. Harry Potter weekends are the best. Anyway, let's get into the Lego set.

Hogwarts

I love this set! My younger self was so excited when she got it for Christmas all those years ago. I love the detail both on the inside and the outside. The front of it truly does look like you are approaching the castle from the Black Lake. A Potterhead's dream. This is one of the older versions of the Hogwarts Castle, not one of the newer sets. This one, I believe, come out in 2011 when the last movie come out.

Let's start on the right side of the castle. The outside of this part of the castle seems to be the Astronomy Tower and the giant main tower you can always recognize when they you see the castle. However, the detail on the outside is not was it seems on the inside.

This is the right most tower, the Astronomy Tower but, when you look at the inside of it, it contents more detail. The top floor of the tower seems to be the Hogwarts library. I believe it is even the restricted section. The bottom of the shelf has a key and some chains keeping the case locked from the students. The set itself came with 3 books but, there is room for more to be added. You just have to slide the glass to open it, I think that is a really fun detail the creators added. The bottom floor is the Room of Requirement. This room does not have a lot of detail but you can clear see that a Vanishing Cabinet can be found here. Mini figures themselves can actually fit inside of it too. Hopefully no Death Eaters are getting through.

The main big tower includes the Slytherin Common Room on the bottom floor and the Gryffindor Common Room on the top floor. The roof of the tower is home to the Owlery and is a nice little stop of the Hogwarts Messengers to live. I love the different details in each of the Common Room to show the differences in the two Hogwarts house.

The left hand side of the castle includes the Great Hall and Professor Dumbledore's Office. I love the detail on the outside of the Great Hall. It truly looks like it does in the movies. The way that Dumbledore's Office looks is cool too. My favorite part is the Hogwarts Crest above the house to the office.

The detail inside the Great Hall is amazing. The long, wooden tables for the students to sit at are so cool, along with the food to feast on. I also love the Slytherin and Gryffindor flags that are hanging down from the ceiling with the floating candles in between. It feels like an enjoyable place to socialize each day.

Dumbledore's Office is amazing. There are potions everywhere and even little details like the Sorting Hat and the Sword of Gryffindor on a shelf above his desk. The spiral staircase up to the top is a super cool feature as well. There is also detail on the bottom floor like the "moving" paintings on the walls and the trophy case with James Potter's Seeker award in it.

I love the mini figures that come with this set. They really help show the battle between good and evil that takes place during the Battle of Hogwarts. They are great for storytelling, my only wish is that the set came with Ron Weasley too and not just Harry and Hermione.

Thanks again for reading everyone! See you next time!
